I have added some RSPB links for identifying birds and making a bird feeder or bird bath. Art Club has 1 new activity - to draw a plant or flower to make an Easter card. I have also uploaded a link in the Art Club to Olaf Falafel's art lessons on YouTube and a file which tells you all about the coral reef and at the end has ideas for creating your own reef-inspired art. There is now an Easter page, which has details of the My Faith badge and a few fun activities to do, as well as a link to the UMC website, which has some faith activities. April 5th
Hi everyone, the plan is to put regular updates in here whenever I change something in the Virtual Scout Hut - I'm also going to use this page to link stuff that I think may be helpful or fun for the educating/educated at home, that I'm either not planning to use in a Scouting capacity, or haven't got around to using yet. The Art Club has been set up with its first activity. The Nature Club has been set up, and has details of the Beaver, Cub, Scout and Explorer badges linked to different nature activities. There is a blog where we can share our findings. There is now a page where you can see which bits of badge activity have been highlighted each week. My current plan is to send out a weekly email to everyone highlighting what's going on, but this is where you will see it first. |
Please remember to update Badges at Home or tell me about anything you do mentioned on any of these pages - they can all be ticked off for something.
Badges at Home
I hope you already knew that you could see how much of a badge your Beaver/Cub/Scout had completed in the Parent Portal of Online Scout Manager. It is now possible for you to see which elements of a badge have been completed and which are yet to be done. You can also upload evidence for parts of any badges that your B/C/S completes at home, for a leader to approve. I will include a link to the Parent Portal in Monday's update email, in case anyone doesn't have it. Young Minds has advice online for young people and their families in these testing times.
The Woodland Trust has a huge range of resources and activities, including ideas for families at home.
