Hope you like the bunting! Why not join the 20th Oldham VE Day garden party?
Join in any time over this bank holiday weekend, send me a picture of what you did, or post on any of our Facebook pages/groups and this cool badge can be yours.
Mark the OccasionThere will be a 2 minute silence at 11am (like on Remembrance Day) to think of everyone who died during World War 2.
People who are able to play The Last Post are asked to do so at 2.55pm, and following this there is the oportunity to listen to Winston Churchill's original speech and people are being asked to raise a toast to: "The Heroes who gave so Much." |
DecorationsEvery good garden party needs decorations. Anything in red / white / blue would be great, but if you're feeling really keen, the BBC has bunting instructions!
Party FoodAfternoon Tea is perfect for a garden party. If you have some flour (!) you could bake a cake, or why not make some delicate sandwiches?
